Blog Entry: My first foray into blogging. I have heaps to say, so no loss for words, but where to bloody start! Here and now I s'pose. It's a lazy Saturday on VBC and I am alleviating the all too familiar boredom by going through my images and labelling them, arranging them and contemplating the memories. I've been contracting now for almost 2 years with breaks of a few weeks here and there. I'm happy with the lifestyle but bloody sick of smart arse yanks who believe their own hype. Fortunately, they are few enough and are only a problem when they are the boss. So back to the images. I decided to put a profile picture up where I was looking at the camera. The one I chose was taken in the doorway of Saddam's "Victory Over The US Palace" that was subjected to multiple JDAM strikes in the second war. The doorway is big enough that a Peterbuilt Primemover is parked inside out of sight! I cropped the image severly to ensure I did not breach OPSEC rules in posting it so you can't see my fat gut, but rest assured, it is there! I have not yet seen the Infamous Route Irish or the IZ (pronounced Eye Zeeee by the yanks which gets annoying) but I'm hoping to get out and about at some stage. I am working 12 hrs with no days off so it's a challenge to sneak away, but I will! What else to add apart from I'm recovering well and enjoying my time in hostile environments ... which automatically marks me as off my rocker to folks back home, but Big Mac will testify to the enviroment and how much more relaxed it is to be around old soldiers daily and to be treated like an adult. Bottom line is I am having a wow of a time even when it's shitful! Beer would be nice though :02_06: SO enough rambling for now and back to work. Cheers, AJ :40:
