If my memory serves me right the last serving Viet Nam Veteran to fly this plane was, at the time, Group Capt Doug Riding when he was OC RAAFBase Sale in the late 80's.


I also think that Walrus has an enlarged photo of this plane in flight with Doug at the controls in his shop. [I wonder where he got it from?]

This is the only flying example of the Aussie built A94 Avon Sabre. It is painted in the livery of the Black Diamonds aerobatic team, which as fate would have it, was the only Sabre Sqn this particular airframe did not serve with!
