The O-2 was an off the shelf Cessna 335 Skymaster and used in the FAC role. The O-2's that supported us were call signed "Jade'.

Mick Haxell, on the left, chats to an un-named 6RAR Veteran on Saturday afternoon at Temora Aviaton Museum's Flying Days. Mick was asked to talk about his DFC by one of the commentators over the PA and his response was "really, do we have to?" ... very humble later as he chatted to this gentleman and politely answered the query with a simple "..all to do with hot extractions of SAS blokes". He added that he wasn't the only 9 Sqn fella flying those missions.
The warbird behind him was one of the kites he flew on the day.
