nice looking aircraft.  Never seen one fly, but I can imagine that engine would have a lovely sounding growl to it.

Just goes to prove that us Aussies can produce some great things in addition to producing bloody great soldiers, sailors and airmen

This is the CAC-13 Boomerang that Matt Denning took 27 years to faithfully restore. Right down to the coachwork. He also built the wings from scratch as no wings survived from the sell off after the war.

Matt donated this bird to Temora Aviation Museum who have removed the nose art. When she flew in the 1940's, she sported the name "Suzi-Q" on the port side cowl. Matt originally restored her with the nose art reproduced.

This was the second time I have had the privaledge to see her fly and I am just as impressed today as back in 2005 at Caboolture. One thing to note though is that in 2005, Matt flew her a little harder than they did at Temora. TAM (Temora Aviation Museum), quite rightly, are very reserved in their flying so as to preserve tha airframes. Caboolture saw Matt with her opened up for the low level passes and she literally emitted a whistle on approach that was heard before the Pratt & Whitney's growl.

I love Boomers.
