Agreed Bluey, much better than the paper at BBQ's. Tooles Dispolsals in Wodonga was like walking into a Bunnings Store for us ex ADF types (they finally closed down this month) they had stacks of them in blue, plus so much ex Navy, Army and Air Force gear until the defence stopped selling the stuff out of Bandiana (I suspect it was due to 9/11, terrorism etc') who knows what could have happened if those nasty guys got a hold of those plates....!!

This (rather crappy) photo is of an Army dinner plate I found a few years ago.
Related to the thread re Porcelain plates (November 09)

All my ex Army plates have the blue "Rising Sun" and the maker listed on the back of this one is from NZ and dated 1971.

Others are undated from "Bristile". 

Good talking point when I use them for BBQ's at Casa Bluey.
