I was lucky enough to catch A4-140 landing for the last time at Canberra airport before being presented to the AWM. I have many fond memories of the 'bou - jumps from, night no light tac insertions into Sam Hill, flying out of Lavarack strip, or even flying Singleton to Woodside via Laverton (it took a while).

Can't see the B300 doing a satisfactory job as the interim replacement.

I hadn't hear of the aircrafts retirement until now Bluey, once travelled from Darwin to Mangalore via Townsville, Brisbane and Sydney, around 13 hours flying time altogether, there was a problem with the heating, the top half was hot and the bottom half of us was freezing cold. Still have fond memories of playing Hunt the B##ch whilst flying out of Garbutt to Macrossan with the A Vehs..

Cheers;

Cent

This is a photo of the last RAAF Caribou (A4-152) in service on its last flight.

Landing at Point Cook where it will go into the RAAF Museum.

Many of the old and bold here will have flown in (or jumped out of) the "Boo" over the years. Not many aircraft make 45 years in service. A fine record for the old workhorse.
